Clinic Website Checklist: 15 Things Every Indian Clinic Site Needs (2026)
By Clinic Stride · · 4 min read

Many clinic websites in India are little more than a homepage with a phone number. A clinic website has two jobs: to help someone who has never met you decide to trust you, and to make it easy for them to book. Use this clinic website checklist before you build a new site, or before you pay someone to rebuild your current one.
Trust (items 1–5)
- Doctor profiles with registration details. A photo, qualifications, medical council registration number and specialties for each doctor. Patients check these, and so do search engines and AI tools.
- Your exact address and a map. Write the address the same way as on your Google Business Profile. When the two don't match, search engines can't be sure which is right.
- A page or section for each service. Name each treatment and explain it in a line or two. "We offer all services" tells a patient nothing.
- Timings, including holidays. Patients ask about timings all the time, so put them where they can find them without calling.
- Real photos. Show your actual clinic, team and equipment rather than stock images. Leave out patient testimonials and before/after pictures: the NMC's October 2026 guidelines restrict using them to promote a practice (see our NMC guidelines guide).
Booking and contact (items 6–9)
- A WhatsApp button that opens a chat with a message already typed in. Most patients in India find WhatsApp easier than filling in a form.
- Online appointment booking. An online appointment booking website lets the patient who looks you up at 10 pm book straight away, with a confirmation sent automatically.
- A call button that stays on screen. On a phone, patients should be able to call you in one tap from any page.
- A consent note on every form. Say what you'll do with the details the patient sends and link to your privacy policy. The DPDP Act 2023 expects this, and most of its obligations apply in full from 2027, so build it in now.

Speed and structure (items 10–12)
- Fast on a budget Android phone. Many patients in tier-2 and tier-3 cities browse on low-cost phones with patchy 4G. Compress images, keep pages light, and aim for the main content to appear within about 2.5 seconds (Google's Largest Contentful Paint target).
- Designed for phones first. Build the mobile layout first and then adapt it for desktop, not the other way round.
- Schema markup (structured data). Add
MedicalClinic,FAQPageandPhysicianschema so Google and AI tools can read your details correctly.
AI search (items 13–15)
- Short answers to common questions. Write questions like "How much is a first consultation?" or "Do you accept cashless insurance?" as headings, with the answer in the first sentence underneath. AI tools can quote answers written this way (more in GEO for clinics).
- The same clinic description everywhere. Use one name, address, list of services and set of timings on your website and on every listing.
- Privacy and terms pages that exist. Many clinic sites link to a privacy policy that was never written. Publish a real one that explains what you collect and why.
What a clinic website costs in India
The cost depends on how many pages, doctors and services you need, and on whether booking connects to a system you already use. A focused site for a single clinic usually takes a few weeks to build properly. Cheap template sites often leave out much of this checklist, especially schema, consent and speed. To get all 15 items in one build, see our clinic websites service, or book a strategy call and we'll check your current site against this list.
